Estimated garage coating budgets
For a professionally installed decorative flake floor, use these project budgets as a starting point. The measured area, existing surface and chosen system determine the final quote.
| Garage size | Estimated project budget |
|---|---|
| 1-car garage | $2,000–$3,000 |
| 2-car garage | $3,000–$4,000 |
| 3-car garage | $4,000+ |
These are budget estimates based on published regional pricing, not fixed installation prices. Garage layouts and contractor minimum charges vary; a larger or more demanding floor can cost more.
What changes the price?
Floor area
The number of garage bays is a quick reference. Actual coating area is measured in square feet, including any steps or extra spaces in the scope.
Existing surface
Old paint, failed coatings, sealer, oil or adhesive may need assessment and removal before a new system can bond.
Concrete condition
Cracks, spalling, moving joints and moisture can change the preparation or make a different approach necessary.
Finish and access
System choice, custom finishes, moving contents, restricted access and staged work can change the total.
What should a written quote cover?
Compare the same work in each quote. A price for adding a topcoat can describe a very different job from removing an old finish and installing a complete coating system.
- The measured area and spaces included.
- Preparation, old-coating removal and repair allowances.
- The named coating layers, decorative finish and texture.
- Any moisture treatment, exclusions and additional charges.
- Walking, furniture and vehicle return-to-use times.
- Taxes, minimum charges, payment terms and written warranty coverage.

About these estimates
The garage-size examples follow Wagoner's published Northeast Indiana cost guide, reviewed October 24, 2026. They are reference budgets rather than this website's completed-job averages or a selected installer's approved rate card.
Duration's Indiana guide gives a broader $4–$12 per square foot range across systems and project conditions. These sources use different scopes, so their numbers have not been averaged or treated as interchangeable. Patios, basements and commercial projects need their own assessment.
